12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Forensics Investigator John Kelly John Kelly served the State of Indiana 35 years as an Indiana State Trooper
Mr. Kelly has worked more than 2,000 criminal cases, of which 300+ were death-related. He has been an expert witness in the State of Indiana during trial testimony and lectures for professional groups/organizations on a variety of forensic science and criminal investigation topics. He has been an educator for 20 years and currently serves as an adjunct for IUPUI in the Forensic and Investigative Sciences Department and has served as an adjunct for Indiana University Kokomo and Ivy Tech Community College. He is currently working with high school students from eight Indiana high schools interested in pursuing post-secondary education and careers in Forensic Science/Criminal Justice. Mr. Kelly is a graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin and the Indiana State Police Law Enforcement Academy. Post Meeting Lunch at 1:30: Luciana's (3716 E 82nd St.) ----- Saturday, November 23
Special Event Speaker: Sisters in Crime National President Lori Rader-Day Location: College Park Clubhouse 9001 Fordham Street, Indianapolis, IN 46268 Lori Rader-Day is the Edgar Award-nominated and Anthony and Mary Higgins Clark award-winning author of Under a Dark Sky, The Day I Died, Little Pretty Things, and The Black Hour. She lives in Chicago, where she is co-chair of the mystery readers’ conference Murder and Mayhem in Chicago and the new national president of Sisters in Crime. Lori is originally from Central Indiana and is a chapter member of Speed City Sisters in Crime. Indy Author Fair: Meet an Author, Be an Author Hosted by Indianapolis Public Library Join fellow writers for a day devoted expressly to Indiana's talented authors. Writing workshops led by experts from the Indiana Writers Center will occur from 11:15-4:30 p.m. The Indy Author Fair networking event with more than 40 up-and-coming Indiana authors takes place from 11:30-2:00 p.m. October 25-27, 2019 - Magna cum Murder Crime Writing Festival
The Columbia Club, Indianapolis, IN Registration for the 25th year of Magna cum Murder is now open. Guest of Honor -- Joe R. Lansdale International Guest of Honor -- Ruth Dudley Edwards Speed City Sisters in Crime will be represented at the Festival and plans to host the Flash Fiction Writing contest again this year. Submissions closed 8/15 with 17 total received. Editors Michael Dabney, Shari Held and Lillie Evans are currently at work looking over submissions. We are pushing back the publication date in order to give the editors time to work with our authors for revisions. Current ETA for the Editors is to have those available to the authors so they have time to revise and send through a critique group with a target return date of December. Our target publication date is early spring 2020. November 16th - 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Pulaski County Public Library Winners of SinC's Doris Ann Norris We Love Libraries Grant Pulaski County Public Library 121 S. Riverside Dr. Winamac, IN 46996 The Doris Ann Norris We Love Libraries Grant is presented monthly to libraries by Sisters in Crime to use for the purchase of books. Speed City Indiana Sisters in Crime will present the Library with a check on behalf of our National organization in November after their regular meeting. There will be a book signing and 1 hour panel. Contact Janet or Steve T. to volunteer to attend. April 2020 Guest Speaker Jaden TerrellAuthor Beth (Jaden) Terrell will be our guest speaker in April 2020.

April 2020 Middlebury Literary CarouselMiddlebury Community Public Library in Middlebury, IN is planning their third literary festival for Saturday April 25, 2020. They are looking for Indiana mystery writers that might like to do presentations or speaking at the festival.
