OFFICE DESCRIPTIONS:
 
President –The President shall be the first executive officer of Speed City Indiana Chapter of Sisters in Crime, and shall preside at all meetings. The President sets goals and responsibilities, serves as ad hoc member of committees, polls board members on major decisions, keeps members informed, serves as group spokesman, and performs such other duties as determined by the membership.
 
Vice President—The Vice-President oversees the work of any standing committees, obtains reports from committees, sees that progress is reported to membership, and assists or substitutes for the President as required.
 
Secretary—The Secretary shall keep minutes and handle correspondence in coordination with the President.
 
Treasurer –The Treasurer, or any person designated by the Board of Directors shall receive all monies of the Speed City Indian Chapter of Sisters in Crime. The Treasurer shall keep accurate financial accounts, maintain a checking account, and shall prepare and submit a complete financial statement at each monthly meeting.
 
Membership Chair—The Membership Chair shall be responsible for collecting dues and keeping a record of all paid members and their contact information for Speed City Indiana Chapter of Sisters in Crime. Membership Chair will notify members on dues when appropriate.
 
Program Chair—The Program Chair shall be responsible for setting up programs for each monthly meeting of the Speed City Indiana Chapter of Sisters in Crime.
 
Web/Media Chair —The media chair shall maintain the website for the Speed City Indiana Chapter of Sisters in Crime. The chair will post the calendar of meetings as well as other appropriate material concerning the chapter on the website.

Speed City Sisters in Crime is the Indiana chapter of the world-wide mystery/crime writers' association Sisters in Crime. The Speed City chapter was founded in 2005.

Members of the organization are published mystery and crime authors, writers working on mysteries and thrillers, and readers and fans of the literary genre. There are currently 40+ members who live in Indiana or the Midwest.

Speed City Sisters in Crime hosts monthly meetings with speakers on topics of interest to mystery and crime writing. Past speakers have included police officers, prosecutors, investigative reporters, forensic specialists, weapons experts, researchers, and publishing and media professionals.
